January Punch and the Pudding Round-up

Hello all,it is December already, can you believe it?Time is flying fast and how.Since it is the month of festivities and fun,I've decided to put in a challenge which I am sure you will find interesting.I have chosen Banoffee pie for the January punch and the interesting part is where you have to make Dulce de leche on your own, yes, how cool is that?

Do you live in a place where you get dulce de leche off the shelves or are you among us deprived souls who have to make everything from scratch?Let me assure you though, making something as delicious as ddl is easier than hitting the stores to buy it.There is not much baking involved in this challenge,so all of you who have postponed their baking chores can join us right in.

I have chosen the recipe from our fellow member Swapna's blog where she has done a detailed step by step post.Hope to see you donning your cooking hats for this!!

Let's get on with the November Punch round-up.

November Punch and the Biscotti Round-up

I know I sound repetitive when I say time flies. But indeed it does.Though we post our challenges once in a month,it seems just like yesterday that we finished our last month's punch and now it is the time for next!

We do Puddings this month,Hot/Cold and here I am with another Chocolate recipe(non-chocoholics,please pardon).I have chosen a Coffee and Chocolate Pudding, which is also called a self-saucing pudding or even Hot Chocolate fudge pudding.I hope you like it.

Without further ado, let's dive into last month's Biscotti round-up.

September Punch and the Pound Cake Round-up

It is time to punch again!!Wonder where the last month went by,is it only me or is it the same with you gals?I am yet to compile the round-up for last month and it is already late for this month's challenge announcement..sigh!

This month,as all of you may know is the Swiss Roll/Roulade month.I had to skip this challenge last year because  a)I didn't have a swiss roll tin and b)my oven is not big enough for one. This year is no different and I didn't want to pick a recipe and end up not doing it myself. So there is a twist.I discussed it with Ria and we decided to do a different recipe this month.

I have chosen Chocolate Almond Biscotti from Joy of Baking. The recipe is quite simple to put together but would be a first for me.I have not attempted a Biscotti ever before and believe it would be exciting to try out something new.

Biscotti is a traditional Italian biscuit which is twice-baked.Biscotti is made dry and crunchy through cutting the loaf of dough while still hot and fresh from baking in the oven."Biscotti" is the only traditional name, which in the Italian language is the plural form of biscotto. The word originates from the medieval Latin word biscoctus, meaning "twice-cooked/baked." It defined oven baked goods that were baked twice, so they were very dry and could be stored for long periods of time.[source]
